Gosh. Wouldn’t it be nice if every issue in DC received the same sort of fervid support as building a golden ballroom for a president who can’t seem to actually govern? A ballroom where he can accept golden accolades and applause behind the comfort of bulletproof glass? And far away from the sturm and drang of the streets where the rest of us live?
It’s just like watching parents deal with a difficult child. You give them everything they want. But they still want more. And so you throw up your hands and say ‘do whatever you want just please leave us alone for 30 seconds?’
Please explain why inadequate security at an event not organized by the White House, at which the president was only a guest, has now accelerated into ‘a ballroom is needed for national security! Now!?
We the people have real-life concerns, and none of them will ever involve a ballroom.
A ballroom will not lower gas prices.
A ballroom will not make food cheaper.
A ballroom will not resolve the array of foreign entanglements we’re involved in, with no end in sight.
A ballroom will not cure the incompetence and corruption that has become SOP in our current leadership.
A ballroom is not a golden cure for what ails this country.
A ballroom is the manifestation of all that is wrong with the country right now.
So please stop trying to shove this current ridiculous presidential boondoggle down our throats. Start trying to do a few things that might help save your jobs come November. And the political future viability of the GOP specifically.
Just stop with the Chicken Little pronouncements every single time Donald Trump wants something new and shiny.
Your credibility is non-existent.
Please, for god’s sake, just tell the child NO for once.
