Initiate Impeachment Proceedings Against Chief Justice John Roberts

To: Rep. Liccardo, Sen. Schiff, Sen. Padilla

From: A verified voter in Saratoga, CA

June 2

Congress must begin impeachment proceedings against Chief Justice John Roberts. His tenure has been marked by a pattern of decisions and conduct that have eroded public trust in the Supreme Court's independence, and the House has both the authority and the obligation to act. The Roberts court has revised the law to favor a criminal President, racists, corporations, polluters, and undermined foreign policy and civil rights at every turn. Laws are not to be manipulated for the powerful, and yet he has done so. He must go. The Constitution grants Congress the power to remove federal judges for high crimes and misdemeanors, and that power exists precisely for moments like this. Roberts needs to hear that he’s broken his oaths to the laws of the land. He is deaf and dumb to the people, so the people are directing you to tell him he’s unpopular as well as a fraud for professing the term if justice in his title. I expect you to use it. Introduce or co-sponsor others articles of impeachment and push for a full Judiciary Committee investigation into Roberts' conduct on the bench. Yes, I’d like to see him prosecuted to the fullest extent for active destruction of the rule of law, but let’s get him out of office first. Thank you.
