I am a constituent in TX who has voted on both sides of the political aisle. I am very concerned about President Trump abusing emergency powers to enact sweeping tariffs on our allies. This plan is clearly not well-researched since it tarrifs islands inhabited by only penguins. The tarrifs do, however, give a tax to Russia, who is not our ally. Trump's chaotic tarrifs are affecting the global economy, alienating our greatest allies, and harming Americans. We the people have given you, our elected Congress representatives, the authority to handle the budget of our country. This is NOT the power of the president. We are NOT in an emergency situation with Canada, our other allies, or penguins. You MUST use the authority that the American people have entrusted to you. You MUST reclaim our US trade policies. Do your job and prevent the economic suffering of your constituents. If you don't, there will be severe political consequences in the next election.
