Hello, I am a trans adult and an Ohio constituent, and I am deeply concerned about the appearance of HB3399 in the state of Texas, which would restrict/ban gender affirming care for all ages.
The bill there only has one single sponsor thankfully, and does not seem poised to pass, but it sets off the alarm for adults who have the right to bodily autonomy, and the ability to freely make decisions about one's life.
Attacks on GAHT for adults directly go against the Republican Party's stance on "protecting children", their stances on freedom and limited government, and do nothing to "regulate" healthcare.
As an Ohioan, I implore you, Democrats, Republicans, and Independents, to listen to constituents rather than ideologues in the Republican Party politburo, and reaffirm your commitment to defending adults' abilities to access healthcare and reaffirm automomy, personal liberties, and freedoms these un-American laws seek to violate.
This is especially dire as Vivek Ramaswamy, a close Trump ally and anti-LGBTQ politician, seeks to run for Ohio governor.
