I am writing in fury and grief over the killing of American citizens — including veterans — by masked federal immigration agents operating in Minnesota, agents who should not even be deployed in our communities. These actions are not law enforcement. They are state violence carried out under the cover of anonymity, intimidation, and fear.
This is a direct betrayal of the Constitution.
No agency of the federal government has the authority to execute people in the street, to operate without transparency, or to deny due process to anyone — citizen or not. Every person in this country is entitled to due process, the protections of the First Amendment, the right to self-defense, and the pursuit of life, liberty, and happiness. These are not suggestions. They are the foundation of our nation.
You swore an oath to defend the Constitution against all enemies, foreign and domestic. When federal agents operate masked, militarized, and unaccountable — killing Americans in the name of immigration enforcement — that oath demands action, not silence.
I am demanding that you refuse to approve any further funding for the Department of Homeland Security until the following are unequivocally enforced:
• Full constitutional compliance in all DHS and ICE operations
• Guaranteed due process and judicial oversight
• Transparency and accountability for federal agents, including identification and consequences for misconduct
• An immediate end to militarized, anonymous federal policing in civilian communities
Silence is not neutrality. Inaction is complicity.
History will remember which elected officials spoke up when constitutional rights were trampled, and which chose political safety over moral courage. And make no mistake — this will not only be judged by voters at the end of this administration, but by history, and for those who claim faith, by God Himself.
The Constitution does not bend for convenience, fear, or cruelty. It either stands — or we admit we have abandoned it.
Do your job. Defend the Constitution. Stop funding lawlessness.
I expect a response outlining the concrete actions you will take.
