Reject the Save Our Bacon Act I am your constituent, and I am writing because I am concerned about the Save Our Bacon Act (H.R. 4673) and its inclusion in the 2026 Farm Bill. I am asking you to reject it and to speak out publicly against it. I am concerned that this bill overrides decisions voters made for themselves in other states, rather than protecting states' rights the way it's being described. I am concerned that it may hurt Iowa farmers who already invested in higher-welfare farming practices to compete in those markets, while mainly benefiting the largest, most consolidated pork producers. I am concerned that the "patchwork of state laws" argument doesn't match how this actually works — no farmer is required to meet another state's standards unless they choose to sell into that market. And I am concerned about the outsized role the National Pork Producers Council, representing the industry's biggest players, has had in shaping this bill. I don't believe this legislation reflects what's genuinely best for Iowa or its independent family farmers, and I'd ask you to: 1. Vote against including the Save Our Bacon Act in any final Farm Bill. 2. Publicly state your opposition to this provision. 3. Let me know directly where you stand on this issue.
