Reject/Vote NO on Todd Blanche for Attorney General

To: Sen. Padilla, Sen. Schiff

From: A verified voter in Saratoga, CA

April 2

Today I take pen in hand to write and urge you in the strongest possible terms to reject Todd Blanche for the post of Attorney General As a replacement for the ousted Pam Bondi, he’s worse, and clearly has no intent to do anything except what Trump wants. It’s another step towards lawlessness on behalf of this administration. His refusal to commit to preserving evidence and supporting transparency in the Mar-a-Lago classified documents investigation is an obvious red flag. Worse he’s recently supported the illegal use of ICE to ‘monitor’ polling places, and he’s certainly going to try to pursue Donald Trump’s list of enemies, some of whom the DOJ has failed to prosecute successfully. The damage he and Bondi and Harmeet Dhillon have done to the Justice Department will take years to repair. Blanche is bad as they come from a very shallow talentless group of legal hacks. As a former member of Trump's legal defense team, Blanche's apparent partisanship and defense of the former president's actions and his continued running of a legal racket in Trump’s favor raise serious doubts about his ability to uphold the integrity and independence of the Department of Justice. Further, going back in time, his track record is bad. Blanche's stance against releasing Volume Il of the Mar-a-Lago report undermines principles of transparency and accountability that are vital to the public's trust in the justice system. The American people deserve access to the full findings of this high-profile investigation into potential misconduct by a former president. Furthermore, Blanche's evasive responses about preserving evidence from cases brought by Special Counsel Jack Smith suggest a concerning disregard for due process and the rule of law. As Attorney General, he would have a duty to protect the integrity of evidence and investigations, regardless of political pressures. The Department of Justice must remain a nonpartisan institution focused on upholding the law fairly and impartially. Appointing an individual who has actively defended efforts to undermine democratic processes and evade accountability would deeply compromise public faith in the justice system. In light of these concerns, Blanche's nomination should be firmly opposed and his near criminal disregard of the kaw and Constitutional norms must be exposed. What kind of a person is Blanche to defucate your whole years of study to undoing what you chose as a profession, and becoming a professional liar? Blanche's record demonstrates an inability to meet this essential standard. I urge you to rally Senate allies and strongly oppose and Vote NO on Todd Blanche. Thank you.
