Pass a Working-Class Agenda, Not Just Anti-Trump Rhetoric

To: Sen. Padilla, Rep. Chu, Sen. Schiff

From: A verified voter in Pasadena, CA

October 17

Pass a working-class agenda. Opposing Trump is necessary, but as Sen. Bernie Sanders put it plainly, "ain't good enough." With Democrats well positioned to make big gains in next month's midterms, the mandate from voters isn't just to check the president. It's to govern differently. Sanders said it directly: "We have to take Trump on. But we have to do more. You have to implement an agenda that works for the working class of this country." That means Medicare for All, so families aren't staying in jobs they hate just to keep their health insurance. It means addressing the cost-of-living crisis that has 78% of Americans blaming Trump's policies for inflation. Denouncing the opposition is not a platform. If Democrats win back Congress and spend the next two years on opposition theater, they will have wasted the moment. Voters want relief, not just resistance. Deliver the agenda.
