An Open Letter

To: Sen. Curtis, Rep. Kennedy, Sen. Lee

From: A constituent in Holladay, UT

February 27

President Trump is using the Department of Justice to sue Utah's Lieutenant Governor, Deidre Henderson, for not releasing private voter role information to the federal government. She is defending the constitutional rights of her state, which is her responsibility as Lt. Governor, and the president is attempting to violate those rights with his bullying tactics. The DOJ should not be weaponized like this by the President, and he should not be suing a Lieutenant Governor in an attempt to violate the constitution. Congress needs to hold him accountable to constitutional law. He is wasting taxpayer dollars, both on the federal level and the state level, on a frivolous lawsuit meant to intimidate and coerce officials into violating the constitution. I call on you as my elected official to stand up to him in defense of our constitution and the Utah Lt. Governor, who is just trying to fulfill her responsibilities with integrity and honor.
