Please vote no on the continuing resolution and no to cloture. As one of your constituents who draws a paycheck from a national laboratory, this is a frightening ask. But these are frightening times and voting no on this continuing resolution is one of the only ways to hold the president and his hatchet man accountable and stop them from dismantling the entire federal government. Robert Reich recently wrote, “Senate Democrats have an opportunity to stop Trump and Musk from their illegal and unconstitutional shutting of the government. Democrats should say they’ll vote for the continuing budget resolution to keep the government going only if Trump agrees to abide by the law and keep the government going — fully funding the services that Congress intends to be fully funded and stopping the pillaging.” And I could not agree more Please follow the example set in 1996, and show the American public the great importance of the federal government and that what trump and musk are doing is illegal and unconstitutional. We have vanishing few opportunities to save our precious democracy, please vote no on the continuing resolution!
