I’m writing regarding the SBIR/STTR program, whose renewal is currently stalled out in the Senate. I own a small business in Pittsburgh (NuRelm, Inc). We work closely as partners with Pitt, CMU, and universities across the country to partner on SBIR projects. We are currently in the middle of two phase 2 projects. Both of these promising projects, which will benefit people’s lives, are critically threatened by the senate’s inability to renew the SBIR program. This is true of every other SBIR or STTR project in the country. Please work to save this essential economic and innovation development jewel. Every week that it is not renewed hurts existing projects, stifles innovation, and directly hurts your constituents.
