Your Oath Demands Action — Initiate Impeachment Investigations Now

To: Sen. Cornyn, Rep. Carter, Sen. Cruz

From: A constituent in Leander, TX

February 25

This is request for action. It is a demand grounded in constitutional duty. The Constitution does not grant Congress the luxury of silence when executive power is abused. Article II, Section 4 is unequivocal: a President may be impeached for “Treason, Bribery, or other high Crimes and Misdemeanors.” That standard has always encompassed abuse of power, obstruction, corruption, and violations of constitutional rights. You swore an oath to defend the Constitution — not to shield Donald J. Trump, or any President, from accountability. Based on publicly reported conduct, official statements, and executive actions, the following alleged unconstitutional and impeachable offenses demand immediate investigation: 1. Abuse of Power Allegation: The President has allegedly used executive authority to target political opponents, critics, journalists, and private citizens. Why It Matters: Executive power is a public trust, not a weapon. Retaliation against dissent is a hallmark of authoritarianism, not constitutional governance. 2. Obstruction of Congress Allegation: The President has allegedly directed officials to defy lawful subpoenas, refuse testimony, and withhold documents. Why It Matters: Congressional oversight is not optional. Obstruction strikes at the core of separation of powers and has been deemed impeachable across administrations. 3. Violation of the Take Care Clause Allegation: The President has allegedly refused to faithfully execute laws passed by Congress while selectively enforcing others. Why It Matters: A President is not empowered to nullify statutes by preference or political convenience. 4. Politicization and Misuse of Federal Agencies Allegation: Federal agencies have allegedly been pressured to serve personal or political objectives. Why It Matters: Weaponizing government institutions corrodes due process and equal protection. 5. Threats to Free Speech and a Free Press Allegation: The President has allegedly engaged in rhetoric and conduct intended to intimidate journalists and chill protected expression. Why It Matters: The First Amendment is not decorative. Undermining it is an attack on democracy itself. 6. Abuse of Commander-in-Chief Authority Allegation: The President has allegedly taken reckless or unauthorized military or foreign policy actions exceeding lawful authority. Why It Matters: War powers are constitutionally shared. Unilateralism risks lives and destabilizes global security. 7. Corruption and Conflicts of Interest Allegation: The President has allegedly failed to meaningfully separate private financial interests from public office. Why It Matters: The presidency is not a profit center. Violations implicate the Emoluments Clauses and public trust. 8. Encouragement or Normalization of Lawless Conduct Allegation: The President has allegedly legitimized threats, violence, or disregard for lawful authority. Why It Matters: A President’s duty is to preserve constitutional order — not erode it. Additional Alleged Constitutional Violations Requiring Investigation 9. Undermining Judicial Authority Allegation: The President has allegedly attacked court rulings, questioned judicial legitimacy, and signaled disregard for binding decisions. Why It Matters: Defiance or delegitimization of the judiciary threatens the rule of law itself. 10. Erosion of Voting and Democratic Processes Allegation: The President has allegedly supported or amplified efforts that weaken election integrity, voter access, or public confidence in democratic systems. Why It Matters: Free and fair elections are the foundation of constitutional government. 11. Expansion of Executive Power Beyond Constitutional Limits Allegation: The President has allegedly asserted sweeping authority inconsistent with statutory or constitutional constraints. Why It Matters: The Constitution rejects monarchy. No President is above legal limits. 12. Violations of Civil Liberties Allegation: Executive conduct has allegedly encroached upon due process, equal protection, or other fundamental rights. Why It Matters: Civil liberties are not suspended by political expedience. Each of these allegations independently raises grave constitutional concerns. Taken together, they describe a presidency operating at the edge — or beyond — constitutional boundaries. Impeachment is not political theater. Impeachment is constitutional enforcement. Delay is not caution. Delay is complicity. History will not remember procedural excuses or partisan calculations. It will remember whether Congress fulfilled its role as a check on executive abuse — or abandoned it. Your oath demands courage. Your oath demands investigation. Your oath demands action. Initiate impeachment investigations immediately.
