The practice of federal immigration agents concealing their identities and not wearing clear identification or agency markings while conducting operations raises concerns about transparency and accountability. Law enforcement officials have a duty to visibly display their credentials, especially when interacting with the public and detaining individuals. While there may be safety considerations, masking agents and failing to properly identify themselves undermines public trust and contradicts principles of open government. Immigration enforcement should be carried out in a manner that respects civil liberties and allows for proper oversight.
