Dear Members of Congress,
I write to you with deep concern and growing alarm regarding the actions of President Donald J. Trump and the continued failure of Congress to assert its constitutional authority.
Congress cannot continue to sit on the sidelines while the President acts unilaterally, disregarding long-standing norms, constitutional limits, and the rule of law.
The damage being done—to our democratic institutions, to our credibility abroad, and to the moral standing of the United States—is profound and ongoing.
Our nation increasingly appears hypocritical on the world stage, undermining the principles we claim to defend.
The Constitution is clear: only Congress has the authority to declare war. Any attempt by the President to engage in or initiate military action without congressional authorization is not only reckless, but unconstitutional.
The American people will not tolerate another unauthorized invasion or military escalation carried out without proper debate, transparency, and legal authority.
The system of checks and balances exists precisely for moments like this. It is time for Congress to reclaim its role as a co-equal branch of government and act decisively to rein in executive overreach.
If the President continues to ignore constitutional boundaries, Congress must seriously consider all available remedies—including impeachment—to protect the integrity of our republic.
History will judge whether Congress fulfilled its duty or failed through inaction. I urge you to do what the Constitution demands, what the moment requires, and what the American people expect.
Enough is enough.
