Vote No on HR9495
To: Sen. Fetterman
From: A constituent in Pittsburgh, PA
November 22
The proposed bill raises significant concerns about potential abuse by overreaching administrations to target and disband non-profit organizations that promote civil liberties, democracy, and governmental accountability. While the intent may be to combat terrorist financing, the broad powers granted to designate groups as "terrorist supporting organizations" could be exploited to suppress legitimate dissent and activism. This threatens fundamental democratic values of free speech and assembly. I urge you to oppose this legislation unless stronger safeguards are implemented to prevent such misuse against lawful non-profits. Protecting national security should not come at the expense of undermining constitutional rights and destabilizing the vital role civil society plays in a healthy democracy.
