The Trump administration has spent $2.7 billion in taxpayer money to kill offshore wind projects and another $1.125 billion propping up coal — and my energy bills are going up as a direct result. Block these expenditures and oppose any further use of federal funds to cancel clean energy development. This is not an energy policy. It's a transfer of wealth from working Americans to fossil-fuel donors. The numbers are damning. Ninety-nine percent of domestic coal plants already cost more to run than replacing them with renewables, and coal generation costs rose 28% between 2021 and 2024. Keeping aging fossil plants running through 2028 will cost ratepayers at least $3.12 billion, according to Grid Strategies. Meanwhile, the administration is slashing clean-energy tax credits, freezing wind permitting, and cutting federal coal royalty rates — costing Wyoming alone an estimated $50 million a year. Former Governor Jay Inslee is right: this serves fossil-fuel donors, not the public. I expect you to say so loudly and fight it.
