Reject Exploitative Legislation Prioritizing Profit Over People

To: Rep. Joyce, Sen. Moreno, Sen. Husted

From: A constituent in Willoughby, OH

June 5, 2025

This congressional spending bill contains deeply harmful provisions that prioritize profits over people and undermine democratic checks and balances. Slashing $793 billion from Medicaid would strip health coverage from 7.8 million Americans, including working families and children. Imposing harsh work requirements on SNAP benefits unfairly penalizes single parents who already face immense challenges. Shielding the administration from court orders neuters judicial oversight and enables continued unconstitutional actions. At its core, this bill represents an alarming transfer of wealth from the most vulnerable to the wealthiest. Billions in tax cuts for corporations and the rich are paid for by gutting social safety nets depended upon by millions. We cannot allow policies rooted in greed to erode access to healthcare, food security, and equal protection under the law. True fiscal responsibility lies in investing in policies that uplift all Americans, not consolidating power for an unrestrained few. I urge you to reject this exploitative legislation and instead champion reforms that create an equitable society for all.
