The Supreme Court's 6-3 decision allowing the Trump administration to end Temporary Protected Status for Haitian and Venezuelan immigrants is a human rights catastrophe, and I need you to act. Introduce or co-sponsor legislation that codifies TPS protections into law before this ruling tears apart hundreds of thousands of families.
Nearly 1.3 million people from 17 countries are now at risk of deportation — people who have lived here for decades, built businesses, paid taxes, and raised American-born children. The 350,000 Haitians and 6,000 Syrians directly targeted by this ruling are just the beginning. Venezuela, El Salvador, Ukraine, Honduras — the list of communities facing destruction goes on. This is not abstract policy. These are real people whose lives are being dismantled by a court decision.
Congress has the power to fix this. A Supreme Court ruling is not the end of the road — it is a call to legislate. I expect you to use every tool available to protect TPS holders from forced removal and to push back against an administration that is systematically stripping humanitarian protections from vulnerable people.
