I'm asking you to oppose the oil blockade on Cuba and work to end the decades-long embargo that has cost the island trillions of dollars according to UN reports.
The current crisis is a humanitarian disaster. Tens of thousands of Cubans are waiting for surgeries that can't happen because hospitals lack electricity. Trash piles up in Havana because garbage trucks have no fuel. Water shortages are worsening. These aren't political abstractions—they're real people suffering because the US cut off Cuba's oil supply in January by forcing Venezuela and threatening Mexico to stop shipments.
Human Rights Watch warned that Cuba's essential services are being pushed to the limit, and the UN said in February the country could collapse. This policy isn't promoting democracy or human rights. It's strangling an entire population and driving people to desperate protests in the streets.
The embargo has failed for over 60 years. This escalation makes it worse. I want you to publicly call for lifting the oil blockade immediately and ending the embargo entirely. Cuba needs humanitarian relief, not threats of takeover.
