Do Nothing Congress

To: Sen. Young, Rep. Houchin, Sen. Banks

From: A verified voter in Bloomington, IN

April 17

I am writing to you today as a concerned constituent to express my frustration regarding the current legislative pace and lack of significant accomplishments in Congress. My concerns were recently echoed by Senator Tommy Tuberville, who stated on April 15, 2026, that the Republican party "hasn't done anything" despite holding majorities in both the House and Senate. Senator Tuberville characterized the lack of progress as "embarrassing" and suggested that the current focus on fundraising and re-election has superseded actual governance. He pointed out that with a clear majority, the party has only successfully passed one major piece of legislation. As my representative, I urge you to prioritize substantive legislative action over partisan maneuvering. We need a Congress that fulfills its duty to the American people by passing meaningful laws that address our nation's most pressing issues. If the party in power cannot demonstrate a record of achievement while holding a majority, it raises serious questions about its effectiveness and priorities. I look forward to hearing how you plan to address this lack of productivity and what specific legislative goals you intend to champion in the coming months.
