Reject Pam Bondi as partisan Trump loyalist AG
To: Sen. Rubio, Sen. Scott
From: A constituent in Fort Myers, FL
November 25
We must not confirm Pam Bondi as U.S. Attorney General due to her concerning ties to former President Trump and questionable ethics record. As Florida's Attorney General, Bondi solicited a political donation from Trump while her office was reviewing whether to pursue fraud allegations against Trump University. Shortly after receiving Trump's $25,000 donation, Bondi declined to join the lawsuit against Trump University. This unethical quid pro quo raises serious doubts about her ability to uphold the rule of law impartially. Furthermore, Bondi has been a staunch defender of Trump, even joining his legal team during his first impeachment trial when he faced charges of abuse of power and obstructing Congress. With Trump threatening to weaponize the Justice Department for political retribution, we cannot risk having such a partisan loyalist leading the department. Bondi's history of putting Trump's interests ahead of justice and ethics disqualifies her from this crucial position overseeing federal law enforcement. We must appoint an Attorney General committed to upholding the law without fear or favor, which Bondi has clearly failed to demonstrate. Confirming her nomination would severely undermine faith in our justice system.
