RELEASING THE EPSTEIN FILES SHOULD BE THE EASIEST VOTE THE GOP EVER MADE

To: Sen. Cornyn, Rep. Pfluger, Sen. Cruz

From: A verified voter in Mason, TX

November 16

While the GOP Congress tries to figure out if they will fall on the side of justice for victims of sexual abuse, or make it easy on themselves and go for the ‘Epstein Hoax’ route, the American people are wading through the world of the rich and powerful through emails with a sexual predator. And that is as enlightening as any media dissection we read. Epstein corresponded with powerful figures of all political bents. He maintained contact with business executives, reporters, academics and political players. All despite his 2008 guilty plea for soliciting prostitution from an underage girl. None appeared to challenge Epstein over his crimes. Silence is complicity. And casual disdain is apparent. These people exist in a system of power that operates in plain sight. Indifferent to conviction or consequence. They are immune to the realities of the rest of us. The emails show some acquaintances supporting him during legal troubles while others sought introductions or advice on everything from dating to oil prices. His judgment on matters of politics, scandal and personal life was actively sought by the powerful. It’s apparent Epstein would have still felt welcome as a member of polite society. He wasn’t ostracized as a sex offender, he was normalized. Reading these emails we can perceive not a conspiracy but a world where immense wealth, privileged access and proximity to power insulates individuals from accountability and consequences. The rules of the outside world do not apply. The Epstein scandal may be the biggest can of worms you will asked to open in your careers. Are you up to the task? Will you do the right thing for the victims of sexual predators? Or will you predetermine, like another feckless Rep from Texas that… “I’ll be voting NO on the Epstein Hoax. The Democrats are using the Epstein Hoax to distract us from the winning of President Trump and his administration. My message to my Republican colleagues: Don’t let this noise keep us from delivering on the mandate of the American people.” P.S. President Trump set a mandate by promising to release the Epstein files if elected. And right now, that’s a mandate most of us agree with. Will you agree with your constituents? Or will you bow to presidential power that insists there’s nothing to see here?
