Recent disclosures from Federal Employees indicate that President Trump has plans to defund FEMA. Recent failures in response to disasters in Arkansas and North Carolina inducate that this administration will ignore states facing natural disasters by denying FEMA funds. FEMA must be protected and made ready and able to serve the people of this country.
Here in Louisiana, our proximity to water and the Gulf brings prosperity, opportunity, and delicious cuisine. Our state provides so much in terms of energy, natural resources, and culture. But our geographic location also makes us vulnerable to storms and natural disasters. When a hurricane hits, the taxpayers of Louisiana need disaster support and relief. FEMA ensures that this happens.
You must ensure that people in Louisiana are covered when it comes to natural disasters. FEMA and other federal programs like the national flood insurance program are crucial to this effort.
You represent people who may need FEMA funds. Do your job. Stand up for Louisiana!
