Do not vote for the SAVE Act

To: Sen. Johnson, Sen. Baldwin

From: A constituent in Janesville, WI

April 12

The SAVE Act unjustly restricts voting rights by requiring documentary proof of citizenship that many eligible voters may not have readily available or may have outdated due to life events like marriage. This burdensome requirement could disenfranchise countless citizens and undermine free and fair elections. I urge you to reject this legislation as it creates unnecessary barriers to the fundamental right to vote. We should be working to expand access to the ballot box, not erecting obstacles that disproportionately impact marginalized communities. Protecting the integrity of our democracy demands safeguarding every citizen's ability to participate freely in the electoral process. Please stand against measures that could deprive eligible voters of their sacred right simply because they lack certain paperwork.
