SAVE Act threatens voter disenfranchisement, erodes universal suffrage

To: Rep. Gomez

From: A constituent in Los Angeles, CA

April 8

The proposed SAVE Act risks disenfranchising 21 million American citizens lacking birth certificates or passports, as well as 69 million married women whose documents may not reflect their current names. Imposing strict documentary requirements could undermine equitable access to the democratic process for many eligible voters. I urge consideration of potential unintended consequences and exploration of balanced measures upholding both electoral integrity and universal suffrage. I insist you vote no on this bill.
