It’s been a long while since I’ve written to petition to you on behalf of Palestinians. The state of the world right now is heavy, and this has made it emotionally difficult to process. But I have thought of Palestine every day, every month since October. I am disgusted by our complicity in their destruction. I am devastated that calls for ceasefire have gone unheard. We are watching the extermination of a people in real time - and those with enough power to do something about it are refusing to intervene. This week, I have seen pictures and videos of students being assaulted on campuses - have we learned nothing from history? That the impact of reactions like this will only lead us to heartbreak? I am imploring you, as the events of the past several months are coming to a head to support and enact a ceasefire in Palestine. Please. For our own shared humanity. We cannot continue to watch innocent Palestinians die everyday.
