I’m writing as a constituent to express my grave concern over President Trump's actions since his return to office. I urgently call on you to exercise your authority to uphold the rule of law by exercising oversight on the executive's actions. The rule of law is essential to the protection and realization of human rights. President Trump has issued executive orders and seemingly given carte blanche to Elon Musk's DOGE to direct actions that appear to violate federal law and encroach upon the authority of Congress, representing grave risks to human rights. These actions include dismantling USAID and other government agencies; firing government watchdogs, officials, and staff; refusing to spend funds already allocated to executive agencies by Congress; as well as accessing sensitive, personal data of millions of Americans and not acting to protect that data from further dissemination and exposure to third parties.
