Reject legislation discriminating against transgender athletes

I urge you to vote against the Protection of Women and Girls in Sports Act, which seeks to bar transgender women and girls from competing in female school sports. Fewer than 10 out of over 500,000 NCAA athletes are transgender, showing this is not a widespread issue that requires federal intervention. Scientific studies indicate trans women and girls do not possess an inherent athletic advantage over cisgender females. Prioritizing discrimination against a small, vulnerable group is unacceptable. Transgender students deserve the same opportunities as their peers to learn valuable skills like teamwork, leadership, and healthy competition through sports. Protecting their rights and well-being should be the priority. I implore you to reject this harmful legislation that targets trans youth.
