I’m writing as a proud Texan and as your constituent to urge you to oppose SB 715 when it comes to the Senate floor. This bill presents the biggest threat to the power grid and our economy of this session. Texas power demand is skyrocketing, and we need every resource available to keep up with demand. SB 715 will take existing power plants offline and stop development of new power plants. SB 715 will increase the risk of blackouts in Texas and take away rural tax revenue and landowner income. SB 715 targets clean energy and dramatically changes a law passed in 2023 before being implemented. I do not support suddenly changing the rules on existing businesses. Please stand up for grid reliability, economic opportunity, and power resources that can be quickly deployed to meet growing demand. Please VOTE NO on SB 715!
