The SAVE America Act is not a voter ID bill. It is a voter removal bill. Noncitizen voting is already illegal. It is also vanishingly rare — election experts across the political spectrum agree on this. This bill does not solve a real problem. It creates one. To register to vote under this law, Americans would need a passport or a birth certificate paired with a photo ID. The Brennan Center's research shows that more than 21 million Americans lack ready access to those documents. Roughly half of all Americans don't have a passport. Not every birth certificate meets the bill's specific requirements. Married women, elderly voters, rural voters, and naturalized citizens are disproportionately affected. Sen. Mike Lee said publicly that he wants this bill passed because prediction markets now favor Democrats to win the Senate in 2026. That is not election integrity. That is election manipulation. I am asking you to hold the line. Filibuster this bill. Stay on the floor as long as it takes. Sen. Padilla has already promised to fight it "tooth and nail" — I am writing to say that your constituents are behind you, and we are watching. The right to vote is not a privilege for the well-documented. It is the foundation of this democracy. Do not let it be dismantled one paperwork requirement at a time.
