I am a constituent who lives in Denver. I am writing today because I am appalled that during what is turning out to be the longest government shut down ever due to a lack of Congress passing appropriation‘s bills, the president is nowhere to be found ( off in China and the far east “negotiating“ trade deals). In prior administrations, the president would be attempting to negotiate some kind of a resolution of this issue. I urge you to remain steadfast in your support of the American people and continue to defeat all attempts by the Republican senators ( and representatives) to subvert the budgetary process, which, by its very definition, requires negotiation! The pain and suffering which the republican party appears willing to inflict on the American people has no limits. Since the president’s term began, he and his lackeys have violated the constitution in numerous ways on an almost daily basis. Unless and until we are able to exert some limit on their actions, this will surely continue. The shutdown is Not the cause of this lawless behavior nor will it end it! Please continue to hold strong and vote against the proposed and any future continuing resolutions until some measure of relief is obtained for the American people!
