This letter is a direct demand—not a request—for answers. The American people have watched President Donald Trump repeatedly appear to fall asleep during official events, public ceremonies, and televised briefings. These are not isolated moments. They are a pattern, and that pattern raises an urgent, unavoidable question:
Who is actually running the United States government right now?
This is a constitutional crisis hiding in plain sight. If the President cannot stay awake, cannot stay engaged, and cannot perform the most basic functions of the office in front of the entire world, then Congress has a duty to determine who is exercising presidential authority behind the scenes.
We want names. We want facts. We want the truth.
• Who is making executive decisions when the President is visibly disengaged?
• Who is directing national security and foreign policy?
• Who is overseeing domestic policy and federal operations?
• Who is filling the leadership vacuum that these public incidents reveal?
Silence is not acceptable. Deflection is not acceptable. Pretending everything is normal is not acceptable.
Congress exists to provide oversight. Use it. Investigate it. And tell the American people the truth about who is actually steering the executive branch when the President cannot—or will not—remain alert enough to do the job.
We expect a public explanation immediately. Delay will only confirm that something is deeply, dangerously wrong.
