I have worked at OHSU and with the same investigator-boss for over twenty years. We work at the Knight Cancer institute on the Community Outreach and Engagement team. This means that we literally get to serve all Oregonians because we live and work in rural regions around the state, not just in the Portland Metro. Our larger team's focus is in cancer prevention, cancer screening, and toward increasing community awareness about how to decrease Oregonians' cancer risks. You, too, serve all of us way over here on the other side of the country. This only academic medical center in Oregon is, rightfully, freaking out about federal funding and sustainability of being able to continue to do what it does best throughout the catchment area. This is the first time in 20+ years of being fully federally funded that I've worried about the stability of my job. I love what I do and want to continue serving this state's neighbors from our Central Oregon office. WHAT ARE YOU DOING IN RESPONSE TO SUPPORTING OREGONIANS' HEALTH AND ACCESS TO CARE? This country, our state, and every individual who lives, works, and serves their neighbors CANNOT make it through four years of the government's destruction. The people in my circle can see very clearly that the Project 2025 playbook is based deeply in white supremacy, the KKK, and the consequences of the illegal and ridiculous decisions, executive orders, and "efficiency" audits this administration is pushing. The decisions and cuts made are literally meant to kill people, especially unrepresented and poor populations, and I have NO DESIRE to be part of the process or the history books for doing nothing. WHAT ABOUT YOU? WHAT ARE YOU DOING TO GET RID OF THESE INCOMPETENT PEOPLE WHO HAVE NO BRAINS, ARE ACTING LIKE BULLS IN A CHINA SHOP, ARE BEING PUPPETED, OR ARE JUST PLAIN EVIL AND UNCARING TOWARDS THEIR FELLOW HUMAN BEINGS? WE NEED YOU TO ACT!!!!! Your constituents need to know you're acting in our best interests. Please respond and tell me how you're combatting the horror, fear, and economic instability we're all experiencing. PS/By the way: We know Very Clearly that the 🍊 Shitler is being puppeted by much more intelligent people. He's just being used as the distraction. What are you doing to get rid of Shitler's puppeteers? We have made an assumption that you have power to influence change. It's past time to use that power. Nothing is going to get better without influence from inside the government. Please, please, please get rid of this administration and its goons ASAP.
