I condemn the unauthorized attacks on Venezuela and I demand that you do too. Congress holds the sole power to declare war, the President has no authority to go starting wars on his own. One man’s ego should not be enough of a reason to strike a sovereign nation and its head of state, however illegitimate. I call on you to back a resolution to immediately cease hostilities with Venezuela and to place clear restrictions on the president’s use of the military without congressional approval.
