Oppose Redistricting Before 2030—Protect Fair Representation in Texas

To: Gov. Abbott, Rep. Bucy, Sen. Flores, Lt. Gov. Patrick

From: A constituent in Austin, TX

July 22

As your constituent, I strongly oppose any efforts to redraw Texas’s congressional maps before the next census. Redistricting outside the standard 10-year cycle undermines public trust and appears to be a purely partisan attempt to gain political advantage rather than serving the people of Texas. The current maps were approved after the 2020 census, and changing them now would set a dangerous precedent. Voters deserve stability, fairness, and a process that respects the principle of equal representation—not rushed redistricting driven by political agendas. I urge you to stand against any attempt to redraw the maps before 2030. Please defend fair representation and uphold the integrity of our democratic process.
