Senator Wyden: Pick a Side. You Chose the Wrong One.

To: Sen. Wyden

From: A verified voter in Myrtle Creek, OR

August 1

You voted to continue arming a government that is starving civilians. You approved $675 million in bombs and 20,000 rifles for Israel—while Gaza suffers under a manufactured famine. Children are dying. Aid is blocked. These are not accidents of war. These are deliberate acts of cruelty. These are war crimes. You have taken over $1.28 million from pro-Israel PACs, including $43,250 from AIPAC. That is a fact. So I’m asking you directly: did that money buy your vote? Who are you representing—your constituents or the Israeli lobby? Where does your allegiance lie? Because right now, it does not appear to be with the people of Oregon or with the greater good. Your vote puts you on the wrong side of history, but more than that—it puts you on the wrong side of basic decency. It is unethical. It is inhumane. And it goes against the values of the Democratic Party and the wishes of your own base. Most Democrats support a ceasefire. Most want to end arms sales. Most oppose the continued funding of this catastrophe. You chose to ignore all of that. You have a responsibility to act. Return the donations from AIPAC and every other pro-Israel PAC. End your support for weapons sales to Israel. Push to suspend all U.S. military and economic aid until Israel stops obstructing humanitarian relief. Enforce the Foreign Assistance Act and stop violating federal law. This is not complicated. You are funding a government using starvation as a weapon. That should be unacceptable to you. It is absolutely unacceptable to me. Do better. Pick a side. Because right now, it’s clear you’ve picked the wrong one.
