In recent months, the Administration has sent the Department of Justice criminal referrals against both NYAG James and Senator Schiff, accusing them of potentially lying to secure better mortgage rates. The claims against them are false and contrived for a number of reasons. However, they appear part of an emerging pattern of attack against the Trump Administration’s perceived foes. This includes the completely made up accusation by Sec Gabbard against former President Obama. She took one sentence out of context and is lying about its reference. This is exactly the type of political weaponization that the current president has done for years. First, Trump publicly lashes out at his political enemies, then his political appointees use the mechanisms of the federal government to give the DOJ pretext to open investigations and potentially prosecute. Finally, Trump uses this pretext to declare the person guilty and uses the looming or ongoing DOJ investigation to further tear into and discredit his enemies. In other words, Trump is doing what he and his allies have falsely accused Democrats of doing for years: weaponizing & manipulating the bureaucracy to go after political opponents. This is blatant hypocrisy and is furthering the distrust we, as American Citizens, have against this Administration. You, as our elected officials from Wisconsin, have the capacity to stop this and get back to governing and doing the work you were elected to do. Tell the DOJ to release the entire unredacted Files on the Epstein Pedophile case, like Mr. Trump promised he would do when he was campaigning. The American People have the right to know who is responsible for this horrible assault on those young people. And stop the political manipulation and weaponization of the Press. Eroding the trust of your voters is not responsible governance.
