I am writing to express my frustration with the continued pattern of political theater replacing meaningful governance. Texans are not asking for spectacle. We are asking for competent leadership that prioritizes real, immediate needs: healthcare access, economic stability, education, infrastructure, and the dignity of everyday working families. Instead, too often we see taxpayer resources and legislative attention directed toward publicity-driven projects, symbolic gestures, and partisan stunts that do nothing to lower costs, improve public services, or strengthen communities. It is exhausting to watch public funds and political capital spent on branding exercises while hospitals remain understaffed, families struggle with medical bills, and students face rising barriers to education. There is a widening gap between what constituents are living through and what is being prioritized in Austin and Washington. That gap is not abstract—it shows up in rent increases, prescription costs, insurance denials, and overburdened public systems. Texans are carrying that weight every single day while leadership debates optics. I am also deeply concerned about the normalization of governance that treats public office as a stage for personal or ideological performance rather than a responsibility to serve all constituents. Regardless of party, elected officials have an obligation to uphold stability, transparency, and accountability—not to inflame division or distract from unresolved problems. We do not need more headlines. We need measurable outcomes. Lower healthcare costs. Stronger public education. Responsible use of taxpayer money. Real investment in veterans, seniors, and low-income families who are being squeezed from every direction. I am asking you directly: shift focus back to governing. Not branding. Not performance. Governance. Texans deserve better than this constant cycle of distraction. And we are paying attention.
