Congress must act to protect our democracy.
Years ago, I read A Case for Impeachment, which warned that Donald Trump showed early signs of disregarding constitutional limits. At the time, those concerns felt serious but not yet fully realized. After the Supreme Court’s recent immunity ruling, his behavior has escalated dramatically, confirming those early warnings and showing how dangerous unchecked power can become.
Experts across the political spectrum have raised alarms about demagoguery, corruption, and the erosion of constitutional safeguards. These concerns are no longer theoretical. They are happening now, and they demand a response.
I am calling on Congress to begin impeachment proceedings. No president should treat immunity as a license to abuse power. Our democracy depends on meaningful checks, accountability, and the courage to act when constitutional norms are threatened.
Congress must impeach and remove Donald Trump to uphold the Constitution and protect our democratic institutions.
