I was not a bit surprised when I saw your photos from the so-called "Rose Garden Club" meeting yesterday and the swag bags of Chinese Trump merch given to the senators in attendance. I have to say, you sure look like "mini Marie Antoinette" eating a fancy lunch at the paved over White House Rose Garden and taking home a goody bag while people are going hungry, going unpaid, and government is not moving because of the Republican shutdown. You can keep trying to blame it on Democrats, but your party has both houses of congress as well as the White House, so you control the whole thing. Another continuing resolution could open it right back up, and has been done plenty of times. Your party could have prevented the whole mess, but we know that Republicans can’t govern. They simply run up the debt and wait for Democrats to fix it so you can complain about them, rinse and repeat. I am sure the taxpayers are on the hook for the brand new Trump signature bags, his crappy Chinese hats, and the god-awful, gawdy, gold crap that he has slapped all over *our* Oval Office. (It is our house, after all.) Today we find out he is also demolishing the entire East Wing to build a ballroom that he claims will be privately funded to the tune of $200 million. But he also is demanding $230 million taxpayer dollars for him getting his feelings hurt because he was being held accountable for taking boxes upon boxes of classified documents and stored them in an unsecured bathroom and on a stage at Mar-a-Lago. He said that huge payday may be used to fund the ballroom that he already said was being privately funded. (He can’t keep his lies straight!) In case you missed it, over 7 million people turned out for the “No Kings” rally on Saturday. There were people there from all political backgrounds (including people who voted for Trump) because this president is running roughshod over the constitution, political norms, and the laws of this nation. You might think you have nothing to worry about politically being in the same party as Trump, but he won’t live forever. We can see that his health is failing. In addition to the chronic venous insufficiency, he rambles, repeats himself, and outright makes things up, so his mental state is declining. Dementia is definitely a Trump family trait. If you took your oath of office seriously, you would be loyal to the state of Missouri, your constituency, and the rule of law as that was your chosen profession before you joined the U.S. Senate. I would bet my last dollar that if Biden, Obama, or Clinton had done half the things Trump has, you would be standing in front of every camera available screaming about it! I am sure I will receive another letter from your office blaming democrats , but we can see who is standing up for the people, and who is intent on kissing up to Trump. You should be ashamed of your behavior but you won’t be.
