I cannot recommend supporting the elimination of the Department of Education. The Department plays a vital role in ensuring equal access to education, enforcing civil rights laws, providing funding to support disadvantaged students, overseeing federal student aid programs, and promoting academic standards. Abolishing it could have severe negative impacts on the quality and equity of education across the country. I urge my representatives to grow a backbone and stand up against abolishing this essential institution, as doing so will cripple the nation's education system for an entire generation.
