I am writing to urge you to support the articles of impeachment filed by Rep. Shri Thanedar against Attorney General Pam Bondi for her refusal to release the Jeffrey Epstein files as required by law. Congress passed legislation mandating that the Department of Justice release all documents related to Jeffrey Epstein, the deceased billionaire and convicted sex offender. Despite this clear legal requirement, Attorney General Bondi is illegally withholding millions of pages of these files. This obstruction is not a partisan issue. The House Oversight Committee voted on a bipartisan basis on Wednesday to subpoena Bondi over the Epstein files, with the subpoena offered by Rep. Nancy Mace and supported by all Democrats and four Republicans. The three articles of impeachment charge Bondi with obstruction of Congress, dereliction of duty and obstruction of justice, and weaponizing and politicizing the Department of Justice. When a Cabinet official refuses to comply with the law and defies Congressional oversight, impeachment is the appropriate constitutional remedy. This is not about politics. It is about accountability and the rule of law. Bondi's conduct represents a betrayal of survivors of sexual abuse who deserve transparency and justice. Her refusal to release these files prevents the public from understanding the full scope of Epstein's crimes and any potential complicity by others. Every day these files remain hidden is another day that survivors are denied answers. I ask you to cosponsor the articles of impeachment against Attorney General Pam Bondi and to publicly call for her compliance with the law requiring release of the Epstein files. The American people deserve transparency, and survivors deserve justice. No official should be above the law.
