It is deeply troubling that the nominee, though holding a medical degree, is not licensed to practice medicine and has built a career in business rather than public health or clinical care. The role of Surgeon General demands credibility, experience, and a demonstrated commitment to science-based public health leadership. Appointing someone lacking these qualifications would undermine trust in this vital office and in the medical profession as a whole. I urge you to vote against this nomination.
