Casey Means in Unqualified to Serve as Surgeon General

To: Rep. Bell, Sen. Hawley, Sen. Schmitt

From: A verified voter in Saint Louis, MO

May 9

As a physician and constituent, I’m writing to express my strong opposition to the confirmation of Casey Means as President Trump’s nominee for Surgeon General. It is deeply troubling that the nominee, though holding a medical degree, is not licensed to practice medicine and has built a career in business rather than public health or clinical care. The role of Surgeon General demands credibility, experience, and a demonstrated commitment to science-based public health leadership. Appointing someone lacking these qualifications would undermine trust in this vital office and in the medical profession as a whole. I urge you to vote against this nomination.
