Pass H.Con.Res. 86 and cut off funding for Trump's unauthorized war with Iran. The House passed this bipartisan War Powers Resolution on June 3rd, and the Senate must follow. Military operations have now run more than 100 days without a single vote from Congress. The War Powers Act of 1973 exists precisely for this moment. The Trump administration's claim that a temporary ceasefire restarted the 60-day clock is a legal fiction. U.S. naval vessels are still operating in and around the Strait of Hormuz, hostilities continue across the Middle East, and taxpayers are absorbing billions in costs while global energy markets remain in turmoil. Congress has the authority and the obligation to act. Vote yes on H.Con.Res. 86.
