I am writing to express my profound disappointment to learn that a house committee rejected a rape and incest provision to the Arkansas abortion ban. I am in the group of people that thinks a woman’s body is her business and your opinion isn’t a good reason to take away their rights. Regardless, I find it even more disappointing that the state of Arkansas not allow exceptions for rape and incest. I feel like this decision is more about controlling people than helping people. It does not come from a place of empathy, logic or love. It feels like true evil, masking itself behind religion. I am ashamed of the state government.
