Stop Medicaid CUTS

To: Sen. McCormick, Sen. Fetterman

From: A constituent in Bethlehem, PA

February 25, 2025

I am writing to express my deep concern regarding potential cuts to Medicaid funding. As a health care provider, mother, and constituent in Pennsylvania, I have witnessed firsthand the critical role Medicaid plays in ensuring access to essential healthcare services for millions of Americans, particularly those most vulnerable. Cuts to Medicaid funding would have devastating consequences, including: * Reduced access to care: Millions could lose their health insurance, leading to delayed or forgone medical treatment. * Increased financial burden: Hospitals and healthcare providers, especially those serving rural and underserved communities, would face significant financial strain, potentially leading to closures. * Worsened health outcomes: Lack of access to preventative care and treatment for chronic conditions would lead to increased illness, disability, and mortality. * Increased cost to taxpayers: Lack of preventative care leads to more expensive emergency room visits, and hospitalizations, therefore raising the cost to taxpayers in the long run. I urge you to consider the profound impact that cuts to Medicaid funding would have on our communities. I respectfully request that you prioritize the health and well-being of your constituents and oppose any measures that would reduce access to this vital program. Thank you for your attention to this critical matter.
