I am writing to express my deep concern regarding the ongoing actions of former President Donald J. Trump during his second term in office. I urge you to take immediate and decisive steps to initiate impeachment proceedings due to what I believe to be egregious violations of the Constitution and a blatant disregard for the rule of law. Most alarming are his repeated attempts to undermine the authority of the federal judiciary by ignoring multiple court orders, including one from the Supreme Court which resulted in a 9-0 ruling to return Abrego Garcia to the United States when he was wrongfully deported to a concentration/death camp in El Salvador. This defiance erodes the foundational principle of checks and balances, setting a dangerous precedent for the executive branch to operate above the law. Such actions are not only unconstitutional, but also a direct threat to the democratic institutions that protect our freedoms. Even more disturbing are recent reports and credible allegations that Mr. Trump has discussed or threatened to send American citizens to detention facilities abroad — specifically in El Salvador — without due process. This notion evokes the darkest chapters in modern history and represents an unacceptable abuse of power that should never be tolerated in a free society. Impeachment is not a step to be taken lightly, but the gravity of these actions demands accountability. No individual, regardless of position or popularity, is above the law. The integrity of our democracy depends on the courage of our elected officials to uphold the Constitution and defend the rights of all citizens. As your constituent, I implore you to lead with principle and act in the interest of justice and constitutional order. I urge you to support — or introduce — articles of impeachment and ensure a thorough investigation into these deeply troubling developments.
