I am writing to urge you to immediately move forward with impeachment proceedings against Kristi Noem, the 8th Secretary of the Department of Homeland Security. Her tenure has been marked by gross incompetence, corruption, and human rights violations that threaten the safety and constitutional rights of everyone living in the United States.
Under Secretary Noem's leadership, ICE has conducted raids that have terrorized communities, separated families, and resulted in multiple deaths. DHS has targeted and detained verified US citizens, with some being deported without due process in clear violation of their constitutional rights. This is not immigration enforcement. This is a fundamental breakdown of legal protections that should alarm every American regardless of their views on immigration policy.
The conditions facing ICE detainees have deteriorated into a human rights crisis. Detained individuals are experiencing sexual assault, medical negligence, and other abuses. Thousands of detained people have gone missing from the system entirely, with no accountability or transparency about their whereabouts or wellbeing. These are not isolated incidents but systemic failures under Secretary Noem's watch.
Secretary Noem has also directed US military forces against protestors exercising their First Amendment rights and celebrated the killing of Renee Good by an ICE agent as self defense, despite reported video evidence contradicting that characterization. Her actions demonstrate a dangerous disregard for basic legal principles and constitutional protections.
The Secretary of Homeland Security must uphold the rule of law and protect the rights of all people in this country. Secretary Noem has failed catastrophically in this duty. I am asking you to support articles of impeachment against her and to use your position to demand immediate accountability for the abuses occurring under her leadership. Our communities deserve better, and our Constitution demands it.
