The cruelty of ICE and Border Control is horrendous.
I write to you as a constituent, daughter, mother, woman, American, and human being to express my deep concern about what is happening to American citizens, immigrants, and legal refugees.
On February 19, Border Patrol agents dropped off Nurul Amin Shah Alam, a nearly blind LEGAL REFUGEE from genocide in Myanmar who spoke no English and could not read, write, or use electronic devices, miles from his home in Buffalo, New York. They did not notify either his lawyer or his family that he had been dropped off. Shah Alam’s children and other family members were desperate to find him. When Shah Alam’s family filed a missing persons case, the police believed he was with Border Patrol and closed the file.
Shah Alam was found dead on the street on February 24.
A spokesperson for Customs and Border Protection, the parent agency of Border Patrol, said: “Border Patrol agents offered him a courtesy ride, which he chose to accept to a coffee shop, determined to be a warm, safe location near his last known address, rather than be released directly from the Border Patrol station. He showed no signs of distress, mobility issues or disabilities requiring special assistance.”
The coffee shop was closed and Shah Alam was left in the bitter cold in Buffalo, New York, mostly blind, and couldn’t read, speak English, or use electronic devices. Shah Alam came here legally as a refugee and once that was known by Border Patrol he was dropped off. This man came to this country thinking that he would be safe and be treated with humanity and dignity and instead he was essentially murdered in a really horrific and evil way.
His family should sue the U. S. government and individuals involved or those encouraging these deplorable behaviors.
How would you feel if your father or grandfather were treated like this? This is so depraved, cruel, and evil.
When are you going to speak up to all of this cruelty and take action against it?!?!
These actions are not Christian and neither is turning a blind eye to them.
Speak up!
