Oppose Restarting Sable Offshore Operations in California

To: Sen. Pérez, Gov. Newsom, Asm. Harabedian

From: A verified voter in Pasadena, CA

March 17

I'm asking you to take immediate action to prevent Sable Offshore from restarting oil operations off California's coast. These platforms have been idle for years, and bringing them back online threatens our marine ecosystems, coastal communities, and climate commitments. California has led the nation in transitioning away from offshore drilling. Allowing Sable to resume operations reverses that progress and puts our coastline at risk of spills and contamination. We've seen the devastation oil infrastructure causes to marine life and local economies that depend on fishing and tourism. The company's plans ignore the reality that we need to phase out fossil fuel extraction, not expand it. Your constituents expect you to protect California's coast, not hand it over to oil companies looking to profit from outdated infrastructure. Block any permits, oppose regulatory approvals, and use every tool available to stop this restart. Our ocean and our future depend on keeping these platforms shut down permanently.
